In 1935 a new pilot boat Ditmar Koel was built. She replaced her predecessor in 1934. She was equipped with a modern push-button control instead of the common steering wheel. In her very short period of service Ditmar Koel was involved in three collisions. At last she was confiscated by the German navy in 1945 and sank in February 1945 after running on a mine in the Bay of Pomerania.
