The tug boats Merkur and Vulkan are quite impressive by their sheer size alone. But the beautiful details add up to a beautiful pair of tug boats of an era of the past. Both models can be built out of this kit. This second edition comes with substantial changes in the way to build the superstructure and thus are easier to build.

Peter Brandt developed the two tug boats Merkur and Vulkan to assist his ocean liner Bremen. This impressive and huge ship was more than once towed by the two powerful tugs. But the two sisters actually don’t need something on the other end of the hawser to make a good impression. The also included signal flags offer additional possibilities for presentation as well.

The second edition of this beautiful kit comes with quite a few improvements and is actually easier to build now. Even the steam engine can be built and with open hatches it is actually possible to see the engine. With their interesting colours and beautiful and precise printing these two tugs are definitely some gems on the display shelf.

The model highlights:

  • 2 models included
  • detailed capstan
  • international code of signals
  • railing with covers
  • with fire monitor
  • detailed steam engine included
