This wonderful model shows an extraordinary lighthouse in the North Sea off Germany's coast with an instering semaphore.

This light beacon was built 1854 with a hight of 29 meters. The architect was the dutch J.J. van Ronzelen. It was the first lighthouse to be equipped with a Fresnel Lense, 2,5 meter high. This artefact is now displayed in the Deutsches Schiffahrtsmuseum in Bremerhaven. The semaphore showed the wind intensity and direction at Borkum and Helgoland.
