Comprehensive 1:144 scale paper model diorama kit of the Japanese Mitsubishi F-2 multirole fighter jet. The kit includes components to build three aircraft (featuring a choice of 10 special commemorative liveries) alongside ground support vehicles, detachable ordnance, and display scenery.

This kit from the "Paper Wing" series delivers a highly versatile diorama concept engineered in 1:144 scale. The set contains materials to construct three complete aircraft: two F-2 fighters in standard/commemorative maritime camouflage (selectable from 10 historical special markings of the JASDF) and one F-2A belonging to the Flight Development and Test Wing.

A key highlight of the kit is its modular functionality: the landing gear assemblies and various air-to-air and air-to-ship missiles (including Type 93, Type 99, and XASM-3) are designed to be easily attached or removed. This allows the aircraft to be showcased either in flight or parked on the ground. The set is rounded out by detailed airfield ground vehicles (a 2,000-gallon fuel tanker and a tow tractor), missile transport trolleys, ground crew figures, and two diorama display sheets (a low-altitude flight stand and an apron display base).

The Mitsubishi F-2 is a single-engine multirole fighter aircraft operated by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF). Developed jointly by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Lockheed Martin starting in the late 1980s, the design was derived from the American General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon. The prototype conducted its maiden flight in 1995, entering active service in the year 2000.

While visually similar to the F-16, the F-2 features significant structural modifications, including a 25% larger wing area constructed with advanced composite materials, an elongated fuselage, and Japanese indigenous avionics. Notably, the F-2 was among the first operational fighters in the world to feature an Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar system. Its primary tactical mission focuses on anti-ship maritime strike operations and airspace defense across the Japanese archipelago.
