This Z-art kit offers a precise replica of the Jurkovič Lookout Tower, a structure famous for its vibrant colors and traditional folk-art styling. It provides modelers with the opportunity to build a unique, multi-tiered wooden tower right down to its stone foundation.

This model requires a steady hand and precision, particularly when assembling the overhanging roof tiers, the intricate viewing galleries, and the detailed cupola.

While the kit is spread across just 3 pages with 38 main numbered parts, the complex angles and realistic, printed wood and stone textures make it a rewarding and highly engaging project for experienced cardboard modelers. The kit also includes a printed baseplate to cleanly display the finished structure.

Although the plans for this beautiful tower were drawn up in 1896 by the respected architect Dušan Jurkovič, the project was shelved for over a century. It wasn't until 2010 that construction finally began on Karlův kopec (Charles Hill) in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm, based on Jurkovič’s original sketches.

The tower stands 31 meters tall, with the main viewing platform situated at 18.8 meters. True to the architect's vision, almost all of the construction was done by hand using traditional, historical woodworking and blacksmithing techniques. The heavy load-bearing frame was carved from oak, while the upper sections feature spruce and fir. The tower is painted in Jurkovič's signature, brightly colored folk style. Hidden inside the top dome is a time capsule left for future generations, which famously includes a bottle of traditional Wallachian plum brandy (Slivovitz).
