The Pram of the Boulogne Flotilla was a purpose-built warship developed under Napoleon Bonaparte starting in 1803 for the intended invasion of the British Isles. To operate successfully in the shallow waters of the English Channel and facilitate landing troops directly onto beaches, these vessels were designed with a very shallow draft and a flat bottom. Despite their transport-oriented nature, they were three-masted and carried surprisingly heavy armament for their size to fend off British naval counters. They formed a critical component of the invasion armada assembled at the camp of Boulogne.
